  • Author – Untitled Pop Culture Oral History (1984 Publishing) (2024 – Present)
    Researching, conducting interviews for, and writing a hybrid oral history about a popular 1980s film. Have interviewed most of the cast and crew, covering the making of the film from soup to nuts. Film and book title TBA.

 

  • Writer / Producer – The Inquisitive Florist (Celery Sound Records) (2025)
    Wrote, acted in, and edited a 2-minute phonograph cylinder created by Vulcan Records in the UK. Released through Celery Sound Records as a limited edition of only 7.

 

  • Producer – Presenting… Dick Davy (Stand Up! Records) (2025)
    Sourced and researched tracks for release of first comedy album from comedian Dick Davy in almost 60 years. Record consists of tracks from three different sources – two unreleased demos and one appearance on local TV in NY from 1968.

  • Writer – We’re Not Worthy (1984 Publishing) (May 2022 – Feb 2023)
    Researched, interviewed 150 people for, and wrote a nonfiction book covering sketch comedy of the 90s for 1984 Publishing. Published September 2023. Interviewed Carol Burnett, Bob Odenkirk, Mike Myers, and more.

 

  • Director/Producer – Comedy on Vinyl Presents – Inside the Archive: The Firesign Theatre (2022)
    Directed and produced a short documentary film about Taylor Jessen, Firesign Theatre archivist, as he prepares their archive to be shipped to the Library of Congress.

    Wrote and produced a sketch comedy album by sketch group Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour.

  • Associate ProducerRarified Heir Podcast (January 2021 – Present)
    Producing (formerly co-hosting and arranging assets for) interviews with kids of celebrities, with co-host Josh Mills (son of Edie Adams). Guests include Carnie Wilson, Amanda Aday and Antonia Bogdanavich.  Podcast is the first podcast to use THX Spatial Audio.

 

  • Researcher / Writer (Contract) – Stand Up! Records (November – December 2019)
    Conducted original research on 60s stand-up comedian Dick Davy. Composed 6,000-word essay using this research.  Essay will be used for an upcoming Dick Davy album from Stand Up! Records.

    Maintaining and curating select comedy archives, including the digital archive for comedian Dick Davy, the oral history of The Firesign Theatre, and the NewsRadio online script archive.

    Logged, chronologized, foldered and boxed 20+ years of monologue jokes from Late Night with David Letterman.

 

  • Producer / Co-Host – Dispatches from Fort Awesome: A NewsRadio Podcast (June 2016 – Present)
    Producing, editing and co-hosting (with actor Allen Rueckert) the first podcast about the NBC sitcom NewsRadio, featuring guests involved in the show.

  • Assistant Archivist The Firesign Theatre (2017 – 2018)
    Assisted archivist for legendary sketch comedy troupe The Firesign Theatre, digitizing and logging VHS tapes from the personal archive of founding member Peter Bergman.

  • Producer / Writer / Director – Looking Forward: 2016 (2018)
    Produced, wrote and directed feature-length sequel to 2012’s Looking Forward.  The sequel exists first as a series of real-time-released video blogs from 14 of the film’s central characters, and the final film was cut from this footage and new interviews.

 

  • Guest Writer – So You Want to Write a Screenplay: A Step-by-Step Guide to Writing for Film, Video, and Television (2017)
    Wrote the “writing for television” section of this screenwriting book aimed at young writers.

  • Producer/Director – Lords of Soaptown (February 2008 – October 2014)
    Feature documentary on a sport known as “Freestyle Walking.”  Currently available on DVD from Dreamscape Media and on Blu-Ray from Celery Sound Records.

 

  • Writer – Post-Modem: The Interwebs Explained (November 2015)
    A 50,000-word comedic semi-history of the Internet, featuring interviews and asides from notable internet personalities.

  • ConsultantThe Craig Ferguson Show – Sirius XM (2015)
    Consulted in early stages of development on how to help bring late night host Craig Ferguson into the world of podcasting and streaming radio for the first time.

 

  • Producer – The Last Five Years (2014)
    Produced Los Angeles stage production of Jason Robert Brown’s popular 2-person musical.

 

  • Producer/Co-Host – Dan and Jay’s Comedy Hour. The Podcast. (2014 – present)
    Comedic podcast covers two host’s early sketches and friendship.

 

  • Writer/Director – Looking Forward (2012)
    Mockumentary feature film about a young man’s presidential pre-campaign, distributed by StolenDress Entertainment. The film’s original trailer was the only pilot presentation out of 33,000 nationwide submissions chosen by Comedy Central and FX executives separately as pilot presentations.

  • Producer/Host – Comedy on Vinyl Podcast (2011 – 2021)
    Podcast discusses influential comedy albums with high-profile guests from the comedy world, as well as the legends themselves.  Past guests include Rusty Warren, Phil Proctor (Firesign Theatre), Scott Aukerman, Todd Glass, Dr. Demento and Peter Shickele (P.D.Q. Bach).  Also premiered a lost Bob Newhart track in 2015.

    Produced Minnesota Fringe show starring Bethany Ford, Susannah Handley and Matt Saxe.

 

  • Development Manager  – Starfish Entertainment (June 2009 – August 2010)
    Reviewed new screenplays and digital shorts for inclusion into production company’s slate of in-development projects.  Wrote and edited sizzle reels for documentary and comedy feature pitches.  Developed and wrote one film and one TV project with Jamie Kennedy Entertainment.

 

  • Writer – Looking Forward: A Hopemoir (October 2008)
    Satire of political campaign manifestos (25,000 words).  Self-published, distributed through Barnes & Noble, Amazon, iTunes, etc.

  • Writer/Director – Conan O’Brien’s Romance-A-Tee (short) (2006)
    Comedic short film distributed by NBC Universal on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien” satellite website.

  • Associate Producer – Press for Truth (September 2006)
    Produced and organized theatrical publicity for documentary feature released on DVD in last quarter of 2006.

  • Writer/Director – Dinosaurs: They Certainly Were Big (short) (2004)
    Wrote and directed a short comedic educational film that played on Frontier Airlines’ in-flight television.

  • Executive Producer / President – StolenDress Entertainment (2003 – present)
    Created StolenDress.com as an early social networking site for young filmmakers, podcast network.

  • Producer / Director – Tunak Tunak Tun (2001)
    Produced one of the web’s first “Viral Videos” with this parody of a popular video by Indian pop star Daler Mehndi.  This video also marks the creation of the online “tribute video,” and one of the first internet memes.

  • North Hollywood Fringe Festival – Winner, Best Stage Adaptation of a Movie (2015): Beetlejuice: A Drinking Game; Jason starred as Charles Deetz.
  • Scriptapalooza TV – Quarter Finalist (Summer 2007): Pilot submission Walk of Fame placed in Top 45 submissions in nationwide screenwriting contest. 
  • Comedy Central’s Test Pilots – Finalist (2007): Pilot submission Looking Forward chosen personally by Comedy Central execs as one of only four finalists out of 3,500 entrants to qualify for development deal. 
  • FameCast Fenoms – Finalist (2007): Pilot submission Looking Forward chosen by online votes to qualify for $5,000 grand prize.
  • FX Networks $50,000 Comedy Competition – Semi-Finalist (2006): Pilot submission Looking Forward chosen by FX Networks execs as one of 20 semi-finalists out of 6,500 entrants to qualify to win $50,000 for pilot production. 
  • Cloud 9 Short Film Festival – Winner – (2004): Short film Dinosaurs: They Certainly Were Big chosen by Frontier Airlines executives to play on their in-flight television channel. 

Volunteer/Charity Work:

  • Producer – ODND Presents: A Tabletop Gaming Meow-rathon (2020 – Present)
    Proposed and produced a charity gaming event for no-kill, no-cage shelter Simply Cats, raising over $1,500 for them during the COVID-19 crisis.  Also participated, creating donation challenges.
  • Alumni Mentor – Columbia College Chicago Alumni Mentoring Program (Spring 2019 Pilot)
    Mentored two Columbia College Chicago comedy students through the entrepreneurship program about navigating a comedy career and balancing it with the other realities of an arts career.
  • Comedy Archive Volunteer  – The Writers Guild Foundation (January 2019 to present)
    Volunteer archive assistant, logging contents of various comedy-related writer archives for non-profit Writers Guild Foundation. 
  • Volunteer – Pardcastathon (March 2017 to 2020)
    Volunteer guest coordinator on yearly 12-hour marathon podcast performance starring Jimmy Pardo.  Coordinated and ran guests to and from performance space and holding area.
  • Creator & Co-Director – The Million McFly March: A Parkinson’s Charity Event (October 2015)
    Created, co-directed and helped run The Million McFly March, benefiting Parkinson’s research.
